Cervical Warts: Learning About One Of The Types Of Genital Warts

Cervical warts is one type of genital warts which should be addressed despite a very few occurrence. Learn how it is related to other HPV strains and cervical cancer.

Cervical warts are types of genital warts that are usually found in the genital area.  It is produced by evident injuries of HPV.  This comprises of the usual kinds of warts appearing on the hands and some parts of the body.  The cervix which is the entry to the uterus, vagina, urethra and anus can also be sites of warts.  Learn more about this problem.

Wart-like injuries are commonly found everywhere in the oral cavity such as the mouth, throat, palate, tonsils and even the internal part of the cheek.  Current reports showed that some of these warts are produced by similar HPV strains that also produce genital warts.  You can frequently find these injuries in individuals who have existing genital warts.

Cervical warts, HPV strains and cervical cancer

Some individuals do not show any indications of HPV infection in their oral cavities even if they are already infected by the virus.  As a matter of fact, there are plenty of reports that have shown lots, if not majority of healthy individuals who will show proof of oral contamination from HPV. These are determined through extremely precise laboratory examinations.

There are also some definite strains of HPV that are linked to cervical cancer. There is also a probable connection with oral contamination with this serotype of HPV and the growth of cancers around the mouth, head and even neck.  The real danger of increasing these cancers following an oral HPV contamination is not known and it has a low probability.

Even though the strains that have been linked to oral cancer are not commonly the strains that produce normal genital warts, supplementary research is still required to evaluate the danger it could cause.  Even the partner of a person who has this disease should be examined carefully.  This is to make sure that the contamination will not spread to others.

Ways to avoid HPV strains

Avoiding HPV contamination is not a simple job.  Even though there are reports that have shown that condoms reduce the possibility of the spread of HPV throughout the sexual contact, it cannot discard the danger posed by the contamination.  Direct contact in itself may widely spread the virus.  The best thing an individual with the disease can do is to abstain from oral sex to avoid transferring the disease to their sex partners.

This preventive measure can be impossible to some persons especially if they are sexually active. Besides, it may already be too late for you to know that you already have the infection.  It is very important for individuals with a highly contagious disease to take extra care when dealing with other people so that the disease can no longer be transmitted to another individual.

HPV infections like cervical warts are considered uncommon.  Just like oral cancers, this rarely happens in an individual.  However, it is important to take good care of yourself all the time.  It is better to undertake all the precautionary measures to refrain from being infected with the disease.  This may affect you not in the physical way but in an emotional manner.
