Vaginal Warts: Ways To Detect And Treat This Type Of Genital Warts

Vaginal warts are considered the most common among all other types of genital warts. Read along to find out what usually characterizes it and the treatment options you have.

Vaginal warts are types of genital warts which are considered benign growths on the outer layer of the skin.  It looks similar to the warts which usually grow on your hand.  It is characterized by a firm lump which has an irregular size.  It can either be very big or too small.  As soon as the HPV is constrained, it can produce a single wart or a lot of warts.  Vaginal warts are also known as sexually transmitted warts.

Vaginal warts are usually determined through a par smear test.  There are times that these warts are hard to diagnose.  This is especially so if they are located at the internal part of the vagina.  Knowing its symptoms will help in the diagnosis as well as in the formulation of the right treatment to the problem.

Symptoms of vaginal warts

The most usual signs that individuals with vaginal warts can experience include:

•    Trichomonas.  This is a kind of protozoal parasite that causes inflammation of the vagina in females and of the urethra in males.  The symptomatic disorder known as trichomoniasis is more common among women.

The parasite is transmitted during sexual intercourse by the male.  The organisms are found in the semen.  Trichomonas is probably the only cause of a genitourinary infection that can be picked up from a toilet seat.  It may also invade the genitalia due to improper anal hygiene.  Trichomonas is an infection but it is not a venereal infection.

•    Wart on the outer vagina.  This kind of wart has an incubation period ranging from three weeks to six months.  They are spread by scratching, and shaving.

•    Recurring yeast infection.  The recurring yeast infections are caused by trichomonas vaginalis, Candida ablicans fungus, and germs complicating various systemic diseases.

Characteristics of vaginal warts

Vaginal warts differ in look.  They differ in dimension and form.  A number of vaginal warts appear like small lumps and others appear like the shape of a cauliflower.

Vaginal warts are considered highly communicable.  They are frequently transferred through direct contact.  Sexual intercourse is the most usual means of transferring this type of genital warts.

Treatment for vaginal warts

The medication of vaginal warts will depend on its dimension.  Tinier warts can be remedied by putting medication into the contaminated part.  Bigger warts on the other hand, may require surgical procedure and to some extent other physicians may recommend freezing it off.  Following the removal of the vaginal warts, there is a great possibility of appearance of more vaginal warts due to the virus that still resides in the body.

The excellent means to avoid vaginal warts is to abstain from sex.  Better yet use condoms if you cannot avoid the activity.  Females can use a sexual protection device to avoid contraction of vaginal warts.  If your sex partner does not have any symptoms of the infection, you can always see your doctor later on for further evaluation of your case.  It always boils down to being attentive to your plight.
